PMAY - Affordable Housing Awards

The flagship scheme of ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ was designed to meet the housing needs of urban poor. PMAY-U 2.0 launched to provide financial aid to 1 crore urban poor and middle-class families for affordable housing in urban areas over five years from 1st September 2024.

“PMAY – Affordable Housing Awards” seeks to recognize the sincere efforts and contributions of Private Developers & Financial Institutions in achieving Hon’ble Prime Minister's dream of “Housing for All” and promoting affordable housing.

We are pleased to launch the 3rd edition of ‘PMAY- Affordable Housing Awards’ and provide an opportunity for Private Developers from each state in India to participate in showing their best practices in providing affordable / mid - segment housing in urban areas. Best Project in each state will be selected by the Esteemed JURY panel and awarded by the Hon'ble Union Minister, MoHUA, GoI. Best Financial Institutions (Bank/ HFC/ NBFC) will also be awarded for their contribution in affordable housing development in the country.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE

With an objective of acknowledging the inestimable contributions of Private Developers in implementation of the affordable/ mid - range housing scheme “PMAY Affordable Housing Awards” has been constituted. The award scheme is aimed at recognising Private Real Estate Developers/ Financial Institutions and making the dream of a house for millions a reality. The award scheme would also recognise the innovations & best practices countrywide in affordable / mid range housing development.

“PMAY - Affordable Housing Awards” will showcase innovation in the way they design, build and as well as offer a variety of services to their buyers - Recognizing and Benchmarking newly developed affordable housing societies that showcase innovative concepts, unique financing mechanisms, comfort, quality design and high-quality affordable housing.

The award scheme will also recognize the primary lending institutes - Bank, NBFC & HFC for their contribution to PMAY- Urban under Credit Link Subsidy scheme (CLSS) & Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. The award will be given to a private developer’s housing project which has been developed under the following verticals of PMAY (U) scheme.

  • Projects developed under CLSS/ISS/AHP & IN-SITU.
  • Affordable Housing projects developed in Partnership with Public & Private sectors.
  • The project to be listed under Status- COMPLETED, it must be 70% commissioned.
  • The project to be listed under Status- UP COMING, it must be 50% commissioned.
  • Those projects which are completed below 50% will not be considered for evaluation.

2. Minimum 35% of the houses should be of that particular category for which the project is being nominated.

3. The financial institution should be a Bank/NBFC/HFC registered under RBI and providing home loans under PMAY (Urban) - Credit Link Subsidy scheme & Interest Subsidy Scheme.

4. Relevant documents need to be attached. Specific backup information may be of verifiable nature (documented records like engineering drawings, annual report, presentation, photos, video footage etc.) as relevant to the query.

MECHANISM

“PMAY - Affordable Housing Awards” endeavors to recognize excellence in the Indian Housing / Real Estate sector by executing a very standardized and rigorous methodology. Various categories and evaluation methodologies have been developed by Knowledge Partners- National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) & CBRI -CSIR, Roorkee. Applications are sought in response to a questionnaire based on quantitative and qualitative aspects of businesses.

The entries received shall be evaluated against the attributes identified. The assessment will be based on the preliminary evaluation. Top -3 entries from each state/ category will be shortlisted by the evaluation committee.

The entries will be further evaluated by inviting the selected ones for presentation before the Jury Committee. The Jury will decide the winner in each category / state.

(A) One organization can submit multiple nominations. Each project is to be nominated separately.

(B) Organization can submit it’s application in the prescribed ‘Application Proforma’ online.

  • Step 1: Register your organization for the award scheme.
  • Step 2: Fill and submit the nomination form.
  • Step 3: Pay the nomination fee online.
